Rules & Regulations, Etc.

NOTE: Tieouts in designated area ONLY.

 

Please refrain from the use of butt fans if at all possible.

All entries in group classes must be shown in individual class.

Shorthorn – Angus – Hereford – Simmental All Purebred.  All Other percentage cattle 7/8 and above need to be in All Other Breeds with papers. All animals are only to be entered into one breed.

Members of immediate family ONLY may combine entries to show in group class – OPEN SHOW ONLY

All Classes must have at least five entries or they will be combined with another class.

No livestock shall be loaded or removed from the grounds before 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13th.

All livestock exhibitor’s trucks, trailers and vehicles must be parked outside the gates.

All exhibitors of animals at the Boone County Fair shall comply with the provisions of the Illinois Humane Care for Animals Act. If violations are observed, the animals will be excused from exhibition and be ordered to be removed from the grounds with all awards being forfeited. As determined by Fair Officials, Super­intendents or Veterinarians, any practice or deviation from normal human husbandry practices, including, but not limited to artificial manipulations, physical abuse, medical treatments or mechanical applications of any substance, other than on the prescription of a licensed veterinarian, will constitute a violation of show rules and are subject to the above provisions.

No feed bunks allowed around barn.

Date of ownership or copies thereof, must be available, upon request, at all times.

Ownership dates: Heifer - June 1st, Cow, January 1st

Base dates – January 1 and July 1.

Senior yearling, born July 1 to December 31, 2021

Junior yearling, Jan. 1 to March 31, 2022

Spring yearling, April 1 to June 30, 2022

Summer yearling, July 1 to Sept. 30, 2022

Senior calf, Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2022

Junior calf, Jan. 1 and after 2023



BREEDER’S HERD – 1 Bull, 2 Females, any age, bred and owned by 

ex­hib­i­tor or immediate family. Animals must be shown in individual classes. Papers will be checked. All breeds competing. No entry fee. SEE PREMIUM #189.

PLEASE READ RULES 3 and 33 BEFORE MAKING ENTRIES

Mailed entries must be postmarked before midnight, Saturday, July 15th.

 

Entries can be made in person and will be taken in the Administration Bldg. on the fairgrounds which will be open on Saturday July 22nd, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday July 23rd, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. only.

Do Not Make Entries For Champions 

Entry Fee $5.00 Per Entry

Stall Rent $5.00 Per Tie

NEW: Only Straw or Bag Mulch & Bag Shavings allowed for bedding!

Administration Fee $5.00 Per Dept., includes 4-H exhibitors, no fee for junior dept. if entered in open show.

Exhibitor passes and vehicle stickers will NOT be mailed. They can be picked up at the Administration Bldg.

Premiums Offered – $24,992.00
