Rules
-
No livestock shall be loaded or removed from the grounds before 4:00 pm Sunday, August 11th.

Registrations will be required at time of exhibition.

Exhibitors will be limited to 2 entries in individual classes and 1 entry in group showings.

All livestock exhibitor’s trucks, trailers and vehicles must be parked outside the gates.

Members of immediate family ONLY may combine entries to show in group class - OPEN SHOW ONLY.

Sheep entered in the wether sire and dam division are not required to have registration papers. The wether sire and dam division is a separate section and is not eligible for the purebred Grand Champion Over-all class.

The designation “natural colored" doesn’t refer to a specific breed of sheep, but several breeds. Basically, natural colored sheep are sheep that are not white.

Base date September 1 and January 1 – must have lamb teeth.

Senior and Junior Lamb classes will be split by age.

Classes are: Corriedale, Dorset, Hampshire, Montadale, ALL Other Breeds, and Natural Colored born after Sept. 1 and before Jan. 1 will be Senior Lambs. Born Jan. 1 and after will be Junior Lambs.

Cheviot, Oxfords, Shropshire and Southdown born after Sept. 1 and before Feb. 15, 2023 will be Senior Lambs. Born Feb. 15, 2023 and after will be Junior Lambs.

Trophy for best Dorset Flock will be donated by the Lewis Hawkey Family.

All open shown wethers must be weighed Thursday night between 4:00 - 6:00 pm.

All wethers must be slick shorn.

Ewe Lambs may not be shown in wether classes.

Six entries maximum in wether show per exhibitor. Limit two entries per weight class.

Flock: 1 ram any age, 3 ewes consisting of both yearlings and lambs.

Pen of 3 Lambs: rams and ewes in any combination. Both sexes represented.

PLEASE READ RULE 33 from the Notice to Exhibitors BEFORE MAKING ENTRIES.
Mailed entries must be postmarked before midnight, Saturday, July 13th.
Entries can be made in person and will be taken in the Administration Bldg. on the fairgrounds which will be open on Saturday July 20th, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday July 21st, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm only.

Pen Rent $5.00
Administration Fee $5.00 Per Dept., includes 4-H exhibitors, no fee for junior dept. if entered in open show.
Exhibitor passes and vehicle stickers will NOT be mailed. They can only be picked up at the Administration Bldg.
Only Straw or Bag Mulch & Bag Shavings allowed for bedding!

JUDGING ORDER: Friday–AOB Meat, AOB Wool, Montadale, Southdown, Hampshire, Cheviot, Shropshire, Corriedale, Natural Colored.
Saturday – Oxford, Suffolk, Dorset, Champions
Friday Evening 6:30 pm – Wether Sire, Dam, Market Lambs
Judging will start at 9:00 am, Friday August 9th, and Saturday August 10th
