Rules

State Health Regulations apply.

In the event of a shortage of stall space, the Super­intendent reserves the right to limit the amount of stalls issued to each Exhibitor. ONLY Stallions and Mares with Foals will be allowed Box Stalls; all others MUST BE TIED.

 

Entries made by mail must be accompanied by check covering entry fees, stall rent and ticket fees. Awards made by single expert judge. The judge will be as thorough in the examination of animals as though the judge were making a purchase. In no case shall a premium be awarded to an unsound or undeserving animal. Any animal unworthy of exhibition shall be disqualified. Any colt under one year may be shown by owner of sire. Only first-prize winners will be eligible to show in Champion Class; 2nd place Class winners are eligible for Reserve Championships. Youth classes judged on ability to perform. All hitches must be in the ring thirty (30) minutes after class has been called; hand classes ten (10) minutes.

All livestock exhibitor’s trucks, trailers and vehicle must be parked outside the gates.

Order of Show to be determined by the Superintendent.

Eligibility – All stallions or mares, one year old or over, must be registered in their respective breed association.

Ownership – To be eligible for competition animals must be the bona fide property of exhibitor except where otherwise specified, and must be owned by exhibitor by July 1st of current year. Foals must be purebred, eligible to register, and must be designated by name, and names and registry numbers of sire and dam and the date of foaling must be given on the entry blank.

Purebreds may be shown as grades in performance classes only. Geldings are not eligible for group classes in the Registered Show. Horses must be shown in individual class to be eligible for group class.

EXHIBITORS MAY COMBINE HORSES TO COMPETE IN 4 OR 6-HORSE HITCH CLASSES ONLY.

DRIVERS OF YOUTH CLASSES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY OTHER CART OR TEAM CLASSES.

*ONLY ONE PREMIUM WILL BE PAID, WHERE AN EXHIBITOR MAKES 2 OR MORE ENTRIES IN A GROUP CLASS.

Classic Cart Series Entry Fee - Premium Number #650 will be $25.00

Six Horse Hitch Classic Series Entry Fee - Premium Numbers #651 and #652 will be $100.00

Do NOT make entries for Champions — No Entry Fee for Pee Wee & Junior Showmanship

Fee: $8.00 Per Entry - Hitch

Stall Rent: $10.00 Per Tie

Double Tack Stall: $20.00

Box Stall: $20.00

Stall requests will be determined by availability and at the superintendents discretion.

Entries can be made in person and will be taken in the Administration Bldg. on the fairgrounds which will be open on Saturday July 20th, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday July 21st, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ONLY.

Only Straw or Bag Mulch & Bag Shavings allowed for bedding!

NEW: Bag shavings must be ordered & paid with entry.

Administration Fee $5.00 Per Dept.

Exhibitor passes and vehicle stickers will NOT be mailed. They can be picked up at the Administration Bldg.

Premiums Offered – $32,725.00

4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8th — Junior Performance Classes and all Cart Classes

9:00 a.m. Friday, August 9th – Halter Show & Showmanship classes – Inside Arena

Performance Class Saturday, August 10th – Outside Arena – at 10:00 a.m.

** HITCH CLASSES ON SATURDAY START WITH 6 HORSE HITCH & WORKING DOWN **

Boone County Fair is a Six-Horse Hitch Classic Series offering two classes with $5,000.00 each in premiums.
